The following terror attacks in Belgium shocked me. I thought it was unexpected that it even happened. The fact that the people had feared it would happen is tragic as their worst nightmare became a reality. I hope the country can quickly recover from this spontaneous catastrophe as those numerous people who became victims to the bombs were innocent, and their loved ones, as well as the world, have to mourn their lost. I also hope the group responsible for the execution of this horrible atrocity reevaluate their morals, as violence should not be an answer to whatever their cause is. I pray for all the affected people, as well as hope another attack does not happen.
1. So What? I should answer all the possible questions that can be posed on my analysis.
2. Sentence structure. I should maintain a subject-verb-object sentence structure to avoid sounding awkward in my explanations.
3. Too vague. My arguments should be in depth and narrowed to be clear.
For March Break, I will finally be able to sleep in!!! I actually had a consistent sleep schedule during school weeks, but this last break before the break broke it… And with daylight savings coming along, the break is the perfect time to fix my sleeping habits (hopefully). Aside from having a schedule to work on my EE and over-the-break homework, I am putting aside some days to chill with friends. Also, I can have time to play the games I bought from a sale back during the winter break!!! I’m happy and I hope everyone spends their March Break the way they want to!
With my book chat with Ashley and Andrea, I was introduced to the food imagery used in chapters 6-8 that I overlooked. Beloved is described to be hungry for Sethe’s storytelling, which is reflected in the food that Sethe was cooking prior to her reminiscing.
The internet allows information to be accessed easily and quickly, for social issues such as gender equality. But, the reason why bigotry is still spread is the lack of an individual’s desire to research a topic themselves and receive information by word-of-mouth. Another reason is ignorance and invalidity, as one wouldn’t believe something if they do not experience it themselves. It is important to know that an individual cannot accept gender equality unless they acknowledge the fact that one cannot be only masculine or only feminine. We must teach boys in their youth to accept their femininity, and teach girls to accept their masculinity. We must break down gender stereotypes, as we force our preconceived notions of gender onto people from their infancy. We must also attempt to reconstruct the common knowledge of gender of older generations, as they teach the younger ones. Ultimately, we must expose that gender does not serve as a base of someone’s worth or position in a society.
